One child profiled in the broadcast was born here, so he is an American citizen, but the announcer said that he was culturally Mexican. This is the problem. If you’re going to come here, for whatever reason you left your old country because it could not meet your needs, either financially, religiously, or for some other reason. Your old country was lacking in something. Why would you come here and not embrace the culture of your adoptive country? Why live in Seattle if you are just going to bring Mexico with you? Mexico (or Nicaragua, or Guatemala, or England, or France, or Germany, or WHEREVER) sucked so hard, you LEFT it. Leave all of it, be American.

Mayday protests
Tomorrow is May 1st. Protesters are scheduled to march in Seattle, upset at what they see as racial and cultural discrimination. These protesters are, from what I can determine from KING 5 news broadcasts, predominately immigrants, both legal and illegal, from Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and other countries south of the border.

The nanny state run amok
A Chicago area school has banned brown bag lunches. Where in the world do they get off? I am so angered by this obviously unconstitutional power grab.
It is not the state’s business to dictate what our children eat or don’t eat. This is something that should be left to the parents. If they want to feed their child a peanut butter sandwich on white bread with a handful of Oreos and a Pepsi, that’s their decision.
I really hope the parents at this school bring the hammer down on the administration. The government, and the schools are absolutely part of the government, is there to protect our rights, not dictate every little facet of our lives. The founders would be appalled at this atrocious infringement of our rights.

Donald Trump and the Birthers
President Obama was born in Hawaii in August of 1961. There is no credible evidence from any source to the contrary. There is, however, an overabundance of proof that he was.
There were birth notices in both of the Honolulu newspapers, announcing his birth at a local hospital. A former Governor of Hawaii, who knew both of Obama’s parents, has come out on the record that he was born there. A Certificate of Live Birth (how in the world can anyone say that a document that contains the words certificate and birth is not a birth certificate?) that is publicly viewable, as well as a detailed debunking of the issue on the internet says he was born in Honolulu in August of 1961.
Notwithstanding all of that evidence, it doesn’t matter where he was born. As my seventh grade civics teacher taught me, anyone who is born anywhere in the world of at least one American parent is a natural born American citizen. Obama’s mother was an American citizen, so he is too.
And lest we forget, John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone, not in one of the 48 (at that time) United States. No one has questioned his qualifications for President based on his birth place. If it’s good enough for the goose, it’s also good enough for the gander.
Donald Trump is a moron for questioning this issue. I won’t be supporting him in his possible run for President, because being a moron is an automatic disqualification in my eyes.
