Unfortunately, this was not to be. The moment the timer ticked down to 0, and reloaded with the opportunity to select seats, they were already gone, even though they had only been on sale for seconds. StubHub and other scalpers had already posted tickets for the Vancouver show at greatly inflated prices, some approaching 10 times the face value. My wife just told me about a floor seat on their website, front row, at a rate of NINETEEN TIMES THE FACE VALUE! This was supposed to be a presale for FANS OF THE BAND, not scalper thieves.
StubHub responded to the issue on twitter, basically saying they’re going to donate some money to the Sunnybrook Foundation, as if this makes their thievery an honorable act. It does not. It just shows that they are bold-faced in their criminality, and do not care, as they say, about
ensuring fans have access to buy and sell tickets to the events they want to see,…What they are really interested in is lining their own pockets. I did NOT have the access to buy the ticket to the event I wanted to see. I wanted a floor seat, and I was online early enough that I should have been able to do that, but I could not, because they stole all the tickets with their bots.
I am so angry about this. I cannot even begin to express how badly I want to hurt them. It's bad enough that Gord is dying, his family is going to be left widowed and fatherless, that his friends will not be able to grow old in their friendship, that his country is going to be without a true patriot and voice for the nation, and that his fans are going to be left without his musical genius. Now we have to deal with thieves, scoundrels, and dirtbags. Thank you ever so much for ruining this last opportunity to see the band, you fucks. I hate you with a white hot passion, never to be lessened. You are truly evil.
